Project - Business Process Automation & Website Development

Overview

At Ridon I took on two distinct roles: building internal business software and creating the company's online presence. Both efforts were built entirely from scratch.

Business Process Automation

I mapped the company's operational processes and built a custom desktop application that automated several labor-intensive administrative tasks.

Features

• Employee management — Registration and overview of all staff members.
• Client & project management — Tracking clients, projects, and contract details.
• Time tracking — Interface for logging daily hours worked per employee per project.
• Production tracking — Daily production records for projects based on fixed-price quotes versus time-and-materials (regie) projects.
• Invoicing — Generating invoices from tracked hours and production data, with the ability to print or export as PDF.

The software replaced manual spreadsheet-based workflows and gave the company clear oversight of ongoing projects, costs, and billable hours.

Tech Stack

Built as a native desktop application using Delphi (Object Pascal) with a Firebird database backend — chosen for reliability and ease of deployment in an office environment without requiring server infrastructure.

Website & Online Marketing

Designed and built the company website with the goal of acquiring new customers through the internet.

• Web design — Created the visual design and implemented the site.
• SEO copywriting — Wrote all website content with search engine optimization in mind.
• Google Ads — Set up and managed online advertising campaigns. To sharpen these skills, I completed a 3-day Google workshop at Utrecht Jaarbeurs focused on Search Engine Advertising (SEA).
• Results — The site ranked organically on the first page of Google for relevant industry search terms for an extended period. The integrated callback request button proved highly effective for lead generation.
